301 – Pacific Crest Gaiters

Use this sewing pattern to make a set of gaiters for snow sports, hiking, or hunting to keep snow out of your boots and protect your shoes. The back closes with a zipper and velcro. Cording and elastic keeps the tops and bottoms closed against snow. D-ring and cording keep the gaiters in place on your boots.
Fabric Suggestions:
Light or heavyweight water proof, waterproof breathable, or water-repellent fabric.
Fabric Requirements:
60" (150cm) Fabric: 5/8 yd (.57 m) for Adult; 1/2 yd (.46 m) for Children
45" (115cm) Fabric: 3/4 yd (.7 m)for Adult; 1/2 yd (.46 m) for Children
Notions:
Two Gaiter Hooks, 1/2 yd (.46 m) 3/4" (1.9 cm) hook and loop, four 3/4" (1.9 cm) D-rings, 2-1/2 yd (2.3 m) 1/8" (.3 cm) cord, polyester thread
Adult:
1 yd (.92 m) 3/8" (1 cm) elastic, 3/4 yd (.7 m) 3/4" (1.9 cm) elastic, two 16" (40.6 cm) Separating Zippers.
Child:
3/4 yd (.7 m) 3/8" (1 cm) elastic, 5/8 yd (.57 m) 3/4" (1.9 cm) elastic, two 12" (30.5 cm) Separating Zippers.
